We recommend having a check-up at GT Auto Centre if you are conscious of the following problems:
Speed bumps do provide an important role of forcing cars to slow down. However, they do take their toll on car suspension particularly if taken at speed. In Dubai, we have the added issue of extreme summer heat and fine sand, both helping to reduce the wear on suspension bushes.
Over time, driving over speed bumps creates fatigue on the rubber bushes that join the steering and suspension to the car. If you start to hear squeaking or knocking or feel inappropriate suspension movement, it’s time to have the suspension checked for fatigue. Keeping on top of damaged bushes, helps prevent more costly problems, and without question maintains the driving integrity and safety of the car.
At GT Auto Centre we have considerable experience changing suspension components and will be delighted to check it for you. It is quick to do and there is no charge for this service.
European cars tend to be more comfortable and set up for a better driving experience particularly for the more enthusiastic driver than Japanese or Korean cars. Whilst this provides the upside of a more compliant ride, the downside is suspension bushes need earlier maintenance.
One of the most common air suspension problems is a leaking air spring. With time, the rubber components of these parts will deteriorate, creating holes and tears and causing an air leak.
There are various warning signs that your air suspension is suffering from an air leak. For example, you may experience a bumpier ride because a damaged air spring can’t absorb the shock from bumps in the road. So all of that movement flows through the suspension system without any cushion.
You may also notice that the air compressor is constantly running. The air compressor works to keeps the bags and springs properly inflated. When there’s a leak, the compressor will keep running. On top of that, if there’s a leak in the air springs, the height of the vehicle will drop or it will sag on the side where the damaged air spring is.
